Tarangire

Tarangire National Park, located approximately 120 kilometers southwest of Arusha City, stands out for its high concentration of African Elephants per square kilometer compared to other national parks in Tanzania. Named after the Tarangire River that flows through its center, the park serves as a vital dry season sanctuary for wildlife, particularly elephants. It offers a rich biodiversity, with sightings of threatened and endangered species such as ebony trees, pythons, cheetahs, African wild dogs, kudus, Beisa Oryx, and Gerenuks. Moreover, birdwatchers will be enthralled by the park’s impressive avian diversity, boasting over 550 recorded species, surpassing even the renowned Serengeti in bird variety.
